Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare determines the extent to which patients' insurance covers their treatments. Additionally, Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Typically requires Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC or AHIMA. The Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Responsibilities:

    • Develop additional reimbursement business of $150,000 annually from clients and prospects
    • Build relationships with clients and community contacts to contribute to the overall marketing efforts of the Firm
    • Analyze and review Medicaid and Medicaid cost reports in accordance with Federal and State regulations
    • Analyze and review Medicare Disproportionate Share (DSH), Medicaid DSH attestation and consulting, Wage Index, Occupational Mix, and Worksheet S-10 engagements
    • Identify reimbursement opportunities and provide clients with support in making strategic decisions
    • Advise clients on best practices within the healthcare industry
    • Supervise and coordinate activities of Reimbursement Consultants, Senior Consultants and Managers in the Ohio offices
    • Recruit, hire and manage Reimbursement staff.
    • Work cross-functionally with other members of the healthcare consulting practice

    Position Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
    • CPA certification is strongly preferred
    • 10 years of experience in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement
    • Experience with reimbursement for allied health education, graduate medical education and organ acquisition is preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage engagements, prioritize engagements and supervise/develop staff
    • Strong technical skills, including those required to be proficient with MS Office; strong Microsoft Excel experience required; Alteryx Tableau proficiency is preferred.
    • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
    • Superb written and oral communication skills
    • Motivated, open-minded, and self-driven with a desire to achieve service excellence
    • Ability to travel to client locations, mostly day trips; minimal overnight travel is required
