Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare determines the extent to which patients' insurance covers their treatments. Reviews appropriateness of CPT-4/ICD-10 coding and determines if care provided corresponds to the charges submitted. Being a Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations and company policies that govern Medicare and state payment systems. May assist in identifying fraudulent non-plan billing practices and assists the legal department with litigation preparation. Additionally, Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Typically requires Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC or AHIMA. The Reimbursement Specialist - Healthcare gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Description & Requirements

    As a member of the Healthcare Group, you may work on a variety of financial, operational, and compliance projects, while rotating through our different healthcare teams. You will be trained in the preparationof annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, andother projects as you gain experience. In addition, you could be involved with analyzing data through the use of various technology tools.

    How you will contribute:

    • Preparing and reviewing annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
    • Working on special projects, which include services related to:
      • Disproportionate Share Hospitals payments
      • Medicare Bad Debts Cost Report Settlement issues
    • Being involved with several Medicaid state-level projects including hospital supplemental payments, and general Medicaid reimbursement topics
    • Assisting with research in numerous regulatory areas

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
    • CPA exam eligibility is not required
