Reimbursement Services Director directs and supervises the activities of the claims and provider reimbursement personnel. Handles third-party reimbursement for services rendered to patients. Being a Reimbursement Services Director sets procedures for filing reimbursement claims and ensures timely and accurate claims payments. Monitors, evaluates and reviews all cost reporting in support of reimbursement claims. Additionally, Reimbursement Services Director develops policies and procedures compliant with fiscal and regulatory requirements. Oversees the collection of statistical and financial data needed for preparing annual and monthly health insurance reports. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Reimbursement Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Responsible for ensuring optimal and timely reimbursement by maintaining accurate client eligibility information, resolving errors, and following with clinicians to ensure billing is optimized and accurate. Work closely with the COPES clinicians to improve processes, efficiencies and productivity. Communicate and collaborate with other agency staff and outside entities, in order to correct errors, resolve issues, and provide assistance to staff both within the department and throughout the agency. Execute all assigned tasks, following departmental processes and procedures, and meeting all goals as set forth by the COPES Department. Review all clinicians daily billing reports to ensure accuracy. Make recommendations for updates, changes or process improvements in order to capture available billing in timely manner for program.
