Rehabilitation Services Supervisor - Home Care supervises the delivery of occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech/language pathology programs to patients in a homecare setting. A safety sensitive position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. Any associate that is actively engaged in the use of medical marijuana, even if in possession of a valid medical marijuana card, will be excluded from employment in a safety sensitive position. DESCRIPTION: Responsible for maintaining standards of patient care in accordance with hospital regulations, policies and procedures as established for physical, occupational, speech therapy and sports medicine. Confers with the medical staff regarding policies and procedures pertaining to the care of their patients in this area. Supervises therapist staff and/or therapy aides and technicians. Assists the Assistant Vice President of Specialty Services in the daily management of services, including but not limited to: staffing, scheduling of staff and patients, performance improvement, operational problem solving, and other activities as assigned by the Assistant Vice President of Specialty Services. Must exhibit good rapport with other departments and nursing staff to enhance the quality of patient care. Works directly with patients of all ages, staff physicians, other rehab associates, nursing associates, and social workers. Active in continuous quality improvement studies. Assists with securing and maintaining equipment needed for procedures, charging, and scheduling. Physical Effort: Required to lift and carry equipment, supplies and materials. Assists patients in positioning and transfers as needed for specific treatment programs. Talking and hearing to convey instructions and information to patients and staff members. Visual acuity to perceive reactions to treatment and to read instructions.
