Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home jobs in New Jersey
Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home directs the programs and staff of the rehabilitation services department for a nursing home. Develops and implements rehabilitation programs by working with the operational leadership team and medical staff. Being a Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home sets and implements guidelines for rehabilitation programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Responsible for the direction, planning, and operation of the rehabilitation function. Additionally, Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home develops and implements policies and procedures regarding staffing and budget. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. May require a professional certification. The Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Requirements:
- Must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional who is licensed by this state and is eligible for certification as a recreation specialist or as an activities professional; or
- Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years’ experience in a social or recreation program within the last five (5) years, one (1) of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting; or
- Must be a qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant; or
- Must have completed a training course approved by this state.
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
- Full COVID vaccination required (including booster).
