Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home directs the programs and staff of the rehabilitation services department for a nursing home. Develops and implements rehabilitation programs by working with the operational leadership team and medical staff. Being a Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home sets and implements guidelines for rehabilitation programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Responsible for the direction, planning, and operation of the rehabilitation function. Additionally, Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home develops and implements policies and procedures regarding staffing and budget. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. May require a professional certification. The Rehabilitation Director - Nursing Home typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     • Provide visionary leadership to the nursing department, overseeing all nursing operations and ensuring the delivery of compassionate and comprehensive care to our residents.

    • Foster a culture of excellence in nursing practice, promoting ongoing professional development, training, and continuing education opportunities for nursing staff.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and administrators, to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
    • Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care provided, conducting regular audits, assessments, and performance reviews to maintain high standards of care.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring adherence to confidentiality and privacy policies.
    • Develop and manage the nursing department budget, allocating resources effectively and efficiently to meet the needs of residents.
    • Prepare nursing and CNA schedules, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skill mix to provide optimal care.
    • Recruit and hire talented, driven care team staff in accordance with facility staff needs.
    • Foster a positive work environment, promoting open communication, teamwork, and professional growth among nursing staff.
    • Serve as a resource and advocate for residents and their families, addressing concerns, providing support, and ensuring a person-centered care approach.

    Qualifications:

    • Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
    • Proven leadership experience in nursing management, with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of nursing professionals.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
    • Strong understanding of nursing best practices, quality improvement initiatives, and infection control protocols.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff members.
    • Proficient computer skills, including experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
    • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a commitment to ensuring the well-being and dignity of all residents.
