Tioga Medical Center is seeking RN applicants with a passion for caring for patients and the community, who will provide exceptional patient care and are willing to work as a team with all staff.
Position Type: Part-Time
License and Certifications:
Active RN license in good standing with the State of North Dakota required.
Active BLS certification required.
Active ACLS certification required.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the orientation of new participants.
- Responsible for the initial assessment of the participants.
- Assists in the development of the plan of care with other staff members.
- Supervises exercise sessions, monitoring participants for inappropriate responses to exercise.
- Responsible for blood pressure measurement and observation of telemetry response.
- Assesses participants pre, during, and post exercise, making appropriate referrals and/or recommendations to the participant, other staff, and Medical Director.
- Reports any significant participant conditions (dysrhythmias, abnormal BP, change in status, etc.), to the physician supervising the program immediately. Initiates ACLS measures and/or emergency care according to hospital policy and procedure.
- Charts and documents initial assessment and daily participant information and progress.
- Maintains professional licensure. Keeps current in the field of Cardiac Rehabilitation through journals, in-services, and conferences.
- Participates in the collection, analysis and reporting of identified individual patient outcomes and program outcomes.
- Assumes the responsibility and the authority for the ongoing operation of the cardiac rehabilitation program.
- Develops, implements and reviews program protocols, standing orders, and policies and procedures with Medical Director.
- Participates in continuing education programs and seminars to maintain current competency in cardiovascular care and cardiac rehabilitation related concepts.
- Develops and implements participant orientation, education, exercise, risk factor modification and counseling.
- Maintains confidential appropriate records in accordance with accepted standards (i.e., JCAHO, Medicare).
- Communicates regularly with participants? primary physicians and the Medical Director regarding progress, problems, and plan of care.
- Evaluates program effectiveness by developing and implementing ongoing quality improvement monitors.
- Performs all duties or tasks requested by the CEO.

- Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines.
- Follows appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents, patients, and themselves.
- Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
- Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel. Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR or CEO.
- Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or administrator. Protects residents and patients from abuse and cooperates with all investigations.
- Reports any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy.
- Participates in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the facility?s emergency plan.
- Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor.
- Follows established infection control policies and procedures.
- As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and skills competency.

- Must have the knowledge, skills, and abilities as required by Tioga Medical Center?s MD or RN job description.
- Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk while working on a computer.
- Ability to maintain good balance, stand for prolonged periods of time, and have good hand dexterity.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
- Meets general health requirements according to facility policy, including medical and physical exams and checking immunity status to various infectious diseases.
- Ability to assist in evacuation of residents and patients during emergency situations.
- May be required to travel to attend work-related meetings and educational opportunities.
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases and/or conditions which include AIDS, Coronavirus, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis.
- May be subject to hostile or emotional residents, patients, family members, visitors or personnel.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Works in well-lit, ventilated area.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Communicates with medical and nursing staff, and other departments.
- Subject to call-back during emergency conditions.
