  • Duties

    As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), some of your typical work assignments may include:

    • Analyzing highly complex policies and practices for the development and implementation of protection mechanisms for the cybersecurity of energy infrastructure necessary for a reliable interconnected national power system and facilitating processes to engage Office leadership and staff in policy development.
    • Performing and/or directs highly visible and critical special studies and analyses related to cybersecurity of jurisdictional energy infrastructure.
    • Serving as a subject matter expert and a technical advisor for the Office Director, front office, and management especially on issues of energy infrastructure security.
    • Serving as a subject matter expert to the Commission on highly complex problems and situations arising in the energy industry, including those involving system operations and energy infrastructure cybersecurity analyses.
    • Identifying emerging security requirements and issues and provides technical support on cybersecurity as it affects energy infrastructure and critical assets.

    You must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with information control systems, security policies and mitigation measures applicable to cybersecurity. experience with information control systems, security policies and mitigation measures applicable to cybersecurity.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including any volunteer experience.

    This position requires you to Obtain and Maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
