Regulatory Affairs Director oversees regulatory matters and executes the strategy to ensure the organization complies with applicable regulations. Develops processes and systems to ensure that all necessary licensing, filings, certifications, and permits are processed and monitored. Being a Regulatory Affairs Director establishes monitoring policies and procedures to ensure compliance with existing regulations. Anticipates new or changing regulations and coordinates with internal stakeholders to develop strategies to address changes in product, operations, or testing requirements. Additionally, Regulatory Affairs Director investigates and addresses any reported issues of non-compliance. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Regulatory Affairs Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Regulatory Affairs Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Providence Health Plan is calling a Director Regulatory Affairs who will:

    • Be responsible for managing and developing a team tasked with performing regulatory consulting and regulatory product lifecycle support for all Providence Health Plan and Providence Health Assurance business activity and strategic initiatives
    • Provide support for all lines of business, including Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, individual market, employer group plan offerings and services, and ancillary lines
    • Be responsible for managing interpretation and dissemination of state and federal regulatory requirements applicable to all health plan activity
    • Be responsible for guiding the organization to successful approval by regulators of all product offerings including supporting rate, benefit, and network filings
    • Ensure mandatory regulatory reporting occurs accurately and on time
    • Impact PHP's legal and regulatory obligations as well as financial obligations to health plan customers

    Required qualifications for this position include:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or other related field of study -OR- a combination of equivalent education / experience
    • 10 years of experience in regulatory compliance or oversight, auditing, risk management, law, government regulations or another related field
    • 5 years managed care or health insurance experience
    • 5 years management experience (Qualifying experience may include: Overseeing legal assistants, Paralegals or other similar indirect reporting)

    Preferred qualifications for this position include:

    • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field -OR- J.D.
