Millinocket Regional Hospital has an immediate opening for a full time Clinical Support/Patient Referrals clerk.
QUALIFICATIONS: Previous health care or medical office experience. Medical terminology background preferred. Ability to work in a fast paced, detail-oriented department, maintaining a positive attitude. Customer service and appropriate phone etiquette required. Computer skills for documentation purposes required. Must be willing to manage the referral. Must be willing to orient on the receptionist role in both practices. May be required to fill in for the receptionist position for vacation coverage.
MAIN FUNCTIONS: To effectively, accurately and confidently perform all required referrals for the Primary Care and Family Medicine. Duties include contacting insurance companies of the required referral, notification to referring office, notification to the patient of the date and time of the referral, precertification when applicable, and follow up on outstanding referrals. Must forward all requested medical records to the appropriate physician office. Follow up on outstanding referrals is required. Will work closely with Central Scheduling for in-house testing. Monthly report will be required on total referrals sent. This position also requires orientation to the reception duties.
This is a full time, hourly position. Varied days, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, varied hours, generally 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
