The hospice nurse spends most of their work day in their car driving to see patients within a set geographical area. Some required meetings do occur at the office on occasion. This job affords a lot of autonomy as well as great team work.
DUTIES:
Hospice nurses see patients in private homes, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and anywhere a patient calls home.
Hospice nurses perform a head-to-toe assessment, provide symptom management and skilled care to patients facing terminal illnesses as well and providing emotional support and education on death and dying.
The RN Case Manager supervises LPNs and CNAs, monitors medication lists and appropriateness of said mediations, assesses for DME needs, provides wound care and other treatments as needed.
Hospice Nurses works with the Interdisciplinary Team made up of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, Social Workers, Chaplains, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Bereavement Staff, Volunteers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must be currently licensed in the State of Missouri as an RN and live with in a commutable distance to the Springfield office.
Willing to train the right candidate. A gentle, loving heart is a must. Must be able to provide love and support to patients and families facing a terminal illness. Must be able to work as a team player and represent our company well in the community.
Computer and smart phone skills for EMR charting, email, apps for mileage computation, etc.
The offices are open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some call required for full-time. Reliable transportation and car insurance required.
Health, dental, vision insurance available for FT along with 401K and optional coverage including cancer policies, short-term disability, etc. for full-time.
Hourly rate plus mileage reimbursement.
