Regional Sales Manager manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales and profit goals within a region. Manages multiple districts within a region and adjusts sales goals and procedures as appropriate for each district. Being a Regional Sales Manager designs and recommends sales programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the region's sales volume. Additionally, Regional Sales Manager collects relevant competitors' market information to increase sales volume and market share. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Regional Sales Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Regional Sales Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Principal Responsibilities:

    • Drives sales and profit through direct selling of established customers and developing/executing new customer business plans
    • Recommends new business strategies to continuously strengthen competitive position in markets
    • Prepares and presents sales presentations, utilize fact base selling tools to support customer strategies, and goals.
    • Acts as liaison cross-functionally, in efforts to resolve customer matters
    • Assures effective operations by coordinating sales and service activities with technical services, production, quality control, inventory and shipping departments
    • Responsible for monthly forecast for segments, evaluate business opportunities and financial impact of existing customers as well as implementing new ones.
    • Attends and performs necessary duties at industry trade shows, seminars and organization meetings as necessary
    • Develops and maintains sales and marketing budgets for region
    • Able to travel 50%-60% within the assigned region

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or business management
    • 5-10 years of experience demonstrating proven success in growing sales and closing deals within the fresh cut/produce industry
    • In depth knowledge of market conditions and seasonality within the fresh cut industry
    • Solid business development and budget analysis capabilities with a demonstrated ability to apply these principles and methods through strategy and tactics
    • Energetic and proactive individual who takes calculated risks, and perseveres to attain goals
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
    • Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines
    • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite
    • Must be able to work independently   

    Broker Management Leadership:

    • Train, and develop a high-performing sales broker team, providing coaching and guidance to ensure their success.
    • Develop and improve customer current base distribution by segment. 
    • Set clear performance goals and objectives for the broker sales team and conduct regular performance evaluations.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and a customer-centric approach with each regional broker.
    • Develop relationships with key priority accounts.
