Description
Responsible for profitability of region, with heavy influence on maintaining and building customer relationships. Works closely with responsible department managers to ensure all company policies and strategies are being upheld while maintaining profitability based on approved budgets.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Sales & Rental Department
- Manage sales and rental activity within the region
- Assembly effective team consisting of managers and sales reps
- Advise and participate in the used equipment strategy
- Work with OEM and vendors to deliver excellent service
- Advise and collaborate with VP of Sales on inventory requirements, communication with OEMs, market opportunities and concerns
· Product Support Departments
- Collaborate and work closely with Corporate Department Managers to ensure alignment, standardization, and productivity throughout the entire AOR of company
- Advise VP Product Support on any concerns or gaps within the region
· Regional Responsibility
- Ensure company image and reputation meets high standards
- Participate in local events and activities to support shared causes and promote the company’s interests
- Oversee and maintain branch facilities while working with designated individuals
Key Job Activities:
- Advises and provides recommendations to President and Vice President of Sales & Marketing with respect to the best interests of the Sales, Rental and Marketing Departments
- Provides regional annual objectives for the Sales Department comprised of individual sales goals
- Ensures authorized sales plans and programs are carried out by Sales Department
- Responsible for Sales Department achieving profitability, volume, product mix and territory coverage
- In conjunction with Regional Managers, mentor’s salespersons to achieve maximum selling effort
- Analyzes pricing, distribution and competitive actions and policies
- Makes recommendations for changes to sales practices and policies to improve sales volume
- Initiates necessary action to ensure proper training support for Sales Department
- Interfaces with manufacturer district representatives to improve sales effort
- Partners with sales product specialists to coordinate and assist in the sales effort
- Determines maximum allowance on trade-ins in conjunction with used equipment manager
- Maintains a balance between new and rental sales
- Ensures target gross and net operating profits are met in assigned region
- Recommends acquisition of additional lines of equipment or changes in present lines
- Evaluates performance and expenses of each salesperson to determine if planned goals are being met
- Budgets and makes recommendations regarding salespersons’ compensation
- Monitors sales reporting through call reports programs
- Interfaces with Service, Parts, and Preventative Maintenance Departments
- Participates in industry related activities as necessary
Qualifications
Education/Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years industry sales experience
- Knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and customer strategies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Equally strong listening skills
- Skilled in developing inter-personal relationships
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and other software programs
- Excellent organizational skills
