  • Trelleborg Healthcare and Medical is seeking a Regional Sales Director, Medical Device Solutions Americas to join their team.

    Responsible for sales development for assigned region, oversees day to day activities with Regional Sales Managers, coordinating and collaborating with Strategy, Segment, Marketing, New Product Development, Innovation Center, R&D, Customer Success Team, Supply Chain and Manufacturing to ensure that targeted customers are served with appropriate service levels to foster sales growth.  May directly manage Sales Engineers as required.

    Manage day-to-day sales programs and activities so that they meet the organization’s short and long-term business objectives, comply with regulations and standards, and protect the organization’s public reputation. 

    Participates as a Core Team member in developing and executing the regional strategy to align with the Trelleborg Medical Solutions Global Strategy.  Develops strategic relationships with key customers that drive regional growth.

    Sets expectations for Regional Sales Managers and their teams, holds the organization accountable for sales development.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or Management
    • MBA a plus
    • 10 years business experience, preferably within the Contract Manufacturing Medical Market
    • 5-10 years in a marketing or sales management position, with proven track record for developing organic growth
    • Experience working in a global organization in collaboration with many functions

     

    Responsibilities:

    STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

    • Develop a strategic sales and marketing plan to grow sales in the region that is congruent with the organization’s overall strategic goals and objectives; both short-term and long-term.
    • Develop a technical strategic plan, by identifying shortfalls with the portofolio, and working strategically with Segment Management and New Product Development teams  to meet market requirements.
    • Establish a presence, increasing market awareness and focus on the strategic positioning of the Trelleborg Medical Solutions image and brand.
    • Determine HR planning needs for the team and work in conjunction with HR to achieve this plan.

    MANAGEMENT

    • Plan, organize, direct and coordinate sales activities for the assigned region. 
    • Conduct ongoing market/environmental analysis of both current and potential customers.
    • Generate sales revenue and profits to meet or exceed budget expectations.
    • Coordinate sales activities with the Customer Success Team, Segment Management, Strategy & Marketing, New Product development, Innovation Center and as appropriate with SCM and Manufacturing.
    • Ensure staff employee engagement results are positive. Actively lead employee engagement, performance management and ensure alignment to Trelleborg Medical Solutions structure.
    • Provide mid-year and annual performance reviews, set performance targets, establish rapport with employees, employee development programs and ensure managers reporting to them are doing the same for their direct reports.
    • Provide monthly reports for the regional sales to communicate performance to the team and leadership.
    • Responsible for researching, analyzing, and planning for personnel, organizational structure, and technical resources.
    • Perform Financial Analysis and Reporting Guidance on a Monthly basis.
    • Provide commercial & technical support, project management, planning and controlling (business, financial and strategic) within corporate strategies, policies and guidelines with the objective of enhancing profitability & cost-effectiveness of projects. Advise sales/projects/business teams with regards to sales proposals, contract and quotations in order to ensure accuracy and timeliness of inputs.

    SALES MANAGEMENT

    • Establish, manage and develop an empowered, self-directed sales force.
    • Establish sales territories and individual sales plans with challenging targets.
    • Develop an executive relationship with Growth Customers and calls upon other higher level management within Trelleborg Medical Solutions to do the same in an effort to broaden relationships as key customer.
    • Monitor and evaluate the ongoing performance of the Regional Sales Manager and sales force as necessary.
    • Provide coaching of sales team prior, during and after sales calls to ensure that objectives are set and met prior to sales engineering making a sales call to a customer, at Growth Accounts.
    • Communicate sales pipeline shortfalls and work with Regional Sales Managers to fill gaps accordingly, reporting and monitoring these activities.
    • Implement and execute Sales Excellence tools across team.
    • Support product/service launches and assign resources as needed.
    • Work in conjunction with market Segment Managers to achieve mutually developed sales goals.
    • Accountable for customer contract negotiations and collaboration with Group Legal to assure contracts are within Trelleborg guidelines.
    • Guides team to execute pricing strategy on an annual basis in collaboration with Pricing Excellence Manager and SCM.

    MARKETING:

    • Is the voice of the customer and liaises with Marketing Team, Segment Management, Customer Success and as needed R & D, Supply Chain, New Product Development, Innovation Center and Manufacturing to ensure that customer needs are heard and acted upon.
    • Provide detailed Market/Competitive Intelligence and Customer/Market direction to executive management and Marketing Team.
