Regional Auto Damage Claims Operations Manager
Responsibilities
This leader will have oversight for auto damage results and operations for CURE’s Michigan market with specific focus in Metro Detroit
The Manager of Auto Damage Claims Operations manages and is accountable for auto physical damage virtual and field appraisal staff who are responsible for serving our customers, and providing appropriate solutions as they investigate, evaluate, and negotiate resolution of claims
Enhances DRP partner shop network through strategic additions and relationship and performance management with existing partners
Hires and develops engaged employees through regular coaching and feedback to deliver business results
Executes process improvements, provides feedback on the process, and leads organizational process changes
Drives execution of operational risk management, regulatory compliance training, policies, and procedures
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled
Inspects and reviews quality of estimates and claim files and provides feedback to employees as appropriate
Responsible for ongoing coaching and driving awareness so employees understand how their work and contributions support the overall claims and Enterprise strategies
Proactively identifies opportunities to improve operational effectiveness, member experiences, and processes providing feedback to internal partners
Achieves optimal productivity through managing workload volumes, staffing, training needs, and identifying and implementing appropriate solutions
Handles escalations and makes appropriate decisions based on the policy
Facilitates and guides employees through skill identification and developing for career progression
Supports projects by serving as a subject matter expert
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
5 years of insurance claims leadership experience as either a direct team lead or manager
Experience using and interpreting data to make decisions
Demonstrated leadership, initiative, customer service, and/or claims-handling skills
Auto Physical Damage/Material Damage Field experience
Experience with automotive Direct Repair Programs (DRP)
Familiarity with salvage procedures, identifying possible subrogation files, as well as claims systems and photo imaging
Ability to manage a Field and Virtual Appraisal hybrid work force
Strong computer skills to include working knowledge of CCC One estimating platforms, and Microsoft Office products
Experience with automotive Direct Repair Programs (DRP)
ASE, I-CAR, technical certifications such as AIC, ARM, SCLA, or CPCU designation(s) preferred
Physical Actions/Environment: Required job duties consist of prompt and regular attendance, ability to frequently coordinate work with others; standing, sitting, and typing for extended periods; Ability to frequently communicate with others remotely on the phone/virtually, and in writing. Ability to read, understand, process, and evaluate large amounts of technical information and make related, informed decisions.
Schedule: Full-Time; 8:30am-5pm.
