    Job Description: As a Chef at The Converse Home, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and executing meals that meet the dietary requirements and preferences of our residents. You will collaborate closely with our dietician to ensure that all meals are nutritious, balanced, and tailored to individual needs.

    Responsibilities:
    • Plan weekly menus that offer a variety of flavors and textures while adhering to dietary guidelines and restrictions.
    • Prepare banquet style meals from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients, with an emphasis on quality and taste.
    • Ensure that food presentation is visually appealing and meets the standards of fine dining.
    • Work closely with the kitchen team, to ensure smooth operations and efficient meal service.
    • Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed, while minimizing waste and controlling costs.
    • Adhere to sanitation and food safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.

    Requirements:
    • Proven experience as a chef in a professional kitchen, preferably in a healthcare or assisted living setting.
    • Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor kitchen staff.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
    • Understanding of dietary restrictions and food allergies, with the ability to accommodate special dietary needs.
    • Certification in food safety and sanitation is preferred.
