Additionally, Regional Chef typically reports to top management. The Regional Chef typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Regional Chef typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • $17.90 - $20.34 PER HOUR GENERAL PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to maintain quality standards and product levels of all chef-prepared products in the kitchen. This person will be preparing and packaging salads, entrees, soups and hot case items, receiving and stocking product, and providing exceptional customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the kitchen provides Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the kitchen Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items Ensures the kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance Delivers excellent customer service to all customers Prepares all chef-prepared items in the kitchen including salads, entrees, soups, hot case items, etc. following Harmons’ recipes Prepares food for special orders and events Receiving and stocking of product Trains prep cooks Assists as needed to ensure the success of the kitchen as a whole MARGINIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities: A high school diploma or GED preferred; two-year college or technical school degree preferred; one year of kitchen experience preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Current Food Handler’s Permit Have a wide range of knowledge in food, ingredients, knife skills, and cooking techniques Must enjoy working with and handling kitchen products Should have a passion for preparing, cooking, and eating food; particularly kitchen items Ability to read and follow a recipe Basic math skills used to double or half a recipe Ability to interpret policies and procedures Excellent organization and planning skills Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with customers and fellow associates Ability to professionally and appropriately handle conflict Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of your team Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized skills and techniques Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons’ mission and commitment to working collaboratively Continually strives to be product minded, customer minded, personnel minded, detailed, forward focused, and consistent Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Also requires standing, walking, and bending throughout the entire workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds from location to location.
