Responsibilities include monitoring pressure and flow and reading gauges and adjusting valves as needed. Being a Refinery Operator requires a high school diploma or equivalent. The Marathon Anacortes Refinery is seeking highly motivated Operators to join our team. Refinery Operators work together to monitor, regulate, troubleshoot, and safely operate complex process equipment. Operators refine crude oil and other feedstocks into transportation fuels, such as conventional gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and other petroleum products. Operators work in a safety-sensitive environment and must successfully complete a rigorous pre-employment assessment process, drug/alcohol and medical screenings, and a background check. To ensure safe operations, new hires must also successfully complete operator qualification training and participate in random drug and alcohol screenings. Refinery Operators work rotating shift work on a seven (7) on seven (7) off schedule and must be available for overtime. Minimum Qualifications High School graduate or GED equivalent, required. Required to maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) to gain access into facility. Willing to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime, required. The current schedule is seven days on, seven days off. Willing to climb ladders and work at height Physical Requirements Work performed at ground level and at heights on concrete, metal grating, gravel, asphalt, and piping surfaces, while climbing, lifting 40 pounds plus, carrying 10-20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 250 pounds with mechanical assistance, and working in confined spaces. Safety Operators work in a safety-sensitive environment and must successfully complete a rigorous pre-employment assessment process, drug/alcohol and medical screenings, and a background check. Schedule Refinery Operators work rotating shift work on a seven (7) on seven (7) off schedule and must be available for overtime. Pay and Benefits Pay is $40.22 per hour upon qualification with a highly competitive benefits package including retirement and medical.
