As a Intake and Referral Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by managing patient referrals, coordinating with insurance providers, and conducting intake assessments.. Responsibilities:

- Review and process patient referrals from healthcare providers

- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for referrals

- Coordinate appointments and schedule consultations with specialists

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of referrals and authorizations

- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding referral status

- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality

- Assist with medical coding and billing tasks as needed

- Collaborate with the medical records department to ensure accurate documentation

Skills:

- Proficient in office administration tasks, including data entry, filing, and record keeping

- Knowledge of medical coding systems, such as ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS

- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures

- Experience working in a dental or medical office setting is preferred

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing patient information

- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies

- Knowledge of Mental Health assessments.
