Recreational Therapist jobs in Sumter, SC

Recreational Therapist plans and directs medically approved therapeutic recreational programs for patients. Organizes activities according to patients' capabilities, needs, and interests. Being a Recreational Therapist conducts programs including symptom management, basic conversation skills, community re-entry, sports, gardening, dramatics, music, social activities, and arts and crafts. Prepares reports for patients' physicians describing individual patient symptoms and reactions to therapeutic programs. Additionally, Recreational Therapist conducts activity therapy assessment of a patient's strengths and needs, and recommends therapeutic activity. Documents progress on each patient. Requires a license/certification to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Requires to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Recreational Therapist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     SPEECH PATHOLOGIST (SLP) - Full Time and PRN Opportunities Available
    Here is your opportunity to channel the full extent of your knowledge, skills, ambition, and experience on a daily basis. Inspire our patients to progress each day as you:
    Provide speech-language treatment and patient care according to hospital, state and federal regulations and professional guidelines.
    Delegate tasks and supervise fellows, technicians and assistants.
    Maintain open and ongoing communication with hospital departments to ensure that patient, staff and hospital needs are met.
    Credentials:
    Current state licensure or certification on or before the first day of employment required.
    CPR certification preferred unless otherwise required by hospital policy essential.
    Successful completion of an accredited master's degree program or an accredited bachelor's degree program plus sufficient experience in the field a must.
    Demonstrated competence in speech-language pathology evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment required.
    Effective communication skills for working with patients, families and caregivers required.
