Department
Recreational Sports
Job Purpose:
The Recreational Sports department manages the Byron Recreation Center and a 14,000 square foot fitness center. Facilities, open recreation, intramurals, group exercise and club sports fall under the purview of Recreational Sports, comprising approximately 2,000 participants annually. Approximately 125 work study students assist the staff annually with programming and staffing of facilities.
Essential Duties:
- Assists in the daily operation of the recreation facilities; monitors work study students in facilities
- Oversees daily administration of the intramural program including league development and scheduling, registration process, event reporting, program promotion, facility/equipment management
- Maintains accurate program statistics by using IMLeagues to track participation in intramurals and other areas utilizing this program
- Assists in the supervision and evaluation of all student staff
- Responds to emergencies and disciplinary issues
- Leads officials trainings for larger intramural leagues
- Assists with daily risk management
Additional Skills Required:
- Must be open to a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
- Must have excellent organizational, administrative, communication, leadership and decision making skills
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team setting
- Must be able to support the Universitys commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture- Must be able to respect, support and contribute to the Universitys Catholic and Jesuit mission
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelors Degree required
Preferred Education:
Minimum Job Experience Requirements:
At least two (2) years experience in the field of intramural, club, and/or recreational sports

Schedule/Work Hours:
Sunday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Position requires some flexibility due to nature of work.
