Recreational Therapist plans and directs medically approved therapeutic recreational programs for patients. Organizes activities according to patients' capabilities, needs, and interests. Being a Recreational Therapist conducts programs including symptom management, basic conversation skills, community re-entry, sports, gardening, dramatics, music, social activities, and arts and crafts. Prepares reports for patients' physicians describing individual patient symptoms and reactions to therapeutic programs. Additionally, Recreational Therapist conducts activity therapy assessment of a patient's strengths and needs, and recommends therapeutic activity. Documents progress on each patient. Requires a license/certification to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Requires to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Recreational Therapist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Rotate through different departments within the production facility, including final assembly, fabrication, harness assembly, and graphics production, to gain exposure to all aspects of our business operations.
    • Assist in final assembly tasks for police, fire, EMS, and public works vehicles, including installing cages, wiring harnesses, warning lights, computer equipment, sirens, vaults, gunlocks, and more.
    • Support the fabrication department by operating machinery and tools such as plasma cutters, press brakes, and powder coating equipment to cut, form, and finish metal components according to specifications.
    • Contribute to harness assembly by using hand crimp tools and machinery to assemble short-run vehicle harnesses, reading and interpreting plans for accurate assembly.
    • Participate in graphics production by applying decals and graphics to vehicles with precision and attention to detail.
    • Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure timely completion of production tasks and maintain workflow efficiency.
    • Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset by actively seeking opportunities to enhance skills and contribute to process improvements.
    • Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to assist in bottleneck departments to achieve production goals.
