Records Supervisor supervises a team working in the company records department and information management programs. Responsible for overseeing the storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all records. Being a Records Supervisor evaluates and recommends media formats and storage requirements to be used for records/information. Provides training and guidance to end users. Additionally, Records Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Records Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. This position is responsible for overseeing the Health Information Management department. The Medical Records Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance of medical records and chart organization. This position ensures all HIM employees abide the organization’s general policies and rules of conduct as outlined in the employee handbook and individual policy and procedures.
