Records Supervisor supervises a team working in the company records department and information management programs. Responsible for overseeing the storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all records. Being a Records Supervisor evaluates and recommends media formats and storage requirements to be used for records/information. Provides training and guidance to end users. Additionally, Records Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Records Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Under the direction of the Administrator, the Medical Records Director plans, develops, and administers medical record systems for nursing centers in accordance with State and Federal Regulations as well as professional standards of practice and Company and facility policies and procedures.
Principal Responsibilities
· Promotes guidelines for documenting, storing and retrieving information
· Processes medical documents, insurance and correspondence requests in compliance with federal, state and local regulations as well as professional standards of practice and The Company corporate and nursing center policies and procedures
· Performs monthly audits on: admissions, discharge and routine Quality Assurance

Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Administration preferred.
· RHIA or RHIT credential preferred.
· Two years proven previous experience in medical records required
