Records Supervisor jobs in Connecticut
Records Supervisor supervises a team working in the company records department and information management programs. Responsible for overseeing the storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all records. Being a Records Supervisor evaluates and recommends media formats and storage requirements to be used for records/information. Provides training and guidance to end users. Additionally, Records Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Records Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Primary Duties:
- Maintains medical record integrity through filing, assembling, and retrieving confidential patient records,
- Processes admissions
- Maintains master patient list
- Prepares folders for new patient records, performs audits.
- Ensures an accurate and complete medical record by scanning paper medical record documents into EMR
- Performs qualitative and quantitative review of scanned images to assure accuracy ad legibility.
- Assigns patient charts for approved external review through electronic health record review routines.
- Maintains paper files by tracking, retrieving, or purging patient files.
- Supervise Reception Personnel with scheduling, covering breaks and lunch breaks, reception duty related matters etc
Must adhere to HIPAA, federal and state guidelines regarding the protection of patient health information. Must follow CMS guidelines for payment source and information retrieval.
High School Diploma required
