Records Manager develops and manages the company records department and information management programs. Responsible for overseeing the storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all records. Being a Records Manager evaluates and recommends media formats and storage requirements to be used for records/information. Ensures that processes and policies that comply with all regulatory requirements for record retention are followed. Additionally, Records Manager designs and implements systems and processes to protect and secure critical records and information. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Records Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     Title: Records Manager

    Clearance: Active Top-Secret Clearance (US Citizenship)

    Salary: Depends on Experience

    Work Setting and Environment

    100% onsite in Winchester, VA.

    2 shifts are available (morning and evening with the possibility of a 3rd shift).

    Flexible schedules and overtime may be requested.

    One year and four option years.

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • High school degree (or equivalent).
    • 3 years of relevant experience (additional education can substitute for work experience).
    • Demonstrated ability in the preparation, management, and execution of project plans.
    • Capable of lifting/carrying items up to 50 lbs.
    • Able to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
    • Capable of operating carts (utility carts, shelving carts, etc.)
    • Able to wear protective equipment (rubber gloves, face masks, etc.) for prolonged periods.

    Responsibilities

    • Assimilate information from various sources, analyze existing processes, develop alternatives based on business process requirements to ensure data integrity is maintained.
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills and knowledge of records management policies.
    • Apply lessons learned from observation/analysis of processes to develop process improvements.
    • Occasionally may lead and support teams of Analysts working on complex large scale issues requiring research, analysis, planning, documentation, and technical support.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of information technology, telecommunications, or security systems, through exposure such as publications, research, teaching, and speeches.
    • Utilize this expertise to provide advice on records inventory, data system utilization and functionality, records disposition, and other records management issues.
    • Possess demonstrated knowledge, experience, and ability in the development of solutions, recommendations, or outcomes across multiple complex tasks and/or organizations.
    • Evaluate options in the context of project objectives and contribute to the implementation of strategic direction.
    • Support project objectives through activities such as conducting project interviews, gathering data, developing plans and recommendations in support of project objectives.
    • Support the activities of Records Assistants or other staff as necessary.
    • Propose and/or develop methodologies for information and records management solutions.
