Records Manager develops and manages the company records department and information management programs. Responsible for overseeing the storage, backup, maintenance, reproduction, protection, and disposition of all records. Being a Records Manager evaluates and recommends media formats and storage requirements to be used for records/information. Ensures that processes and policies that comply with all regulatory requirements for record retention are followed. Additionally, Records Manager designs and implements systems and processes to protect and secure critical records and information. Requires a bachelor's degree. The Health Information Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of all patient medical records information for the hospital, ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws, rules and regulations of licensing agencies and within Joint Commission standards. This position supervises a team of 2-4 employees
Requirements:
· A bachelor’s degree in information management/medical records or related field.
· A minimum of three (3) years leadership experience in information management. Thorough knowledge of medical records coding and medical terminology required.
· Certification accreditation as a registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), as determined by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
· Training: Successful completion of Crisis Management and Service Excellence training must occur within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in any restraining procedures.
· CPR certification required.
· Occasional evening and weekend work may be required and flexible hours are required.
