Records Clerk locates and retrieves company records as requested. Follows verification procedures and prepares records for archiving. Being a Records Clerk inventories records stored and may assist in the destruction of records. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Records Clerk typically reports to a supervisor. The Records Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. PRIMARY PURPOSE or JOB SUMMARY
To perform data processing and monitoring duties relating to child comprehensive files and computerized files and records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s Degree in computer science, business, or office systems technology and a minimum one year related work experience in an office environment. Experience or knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start operations and requirements is desired. Will consider an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Valid South Carolina Driver’s License

WORKING CONDITIONS
Between 6-8 hours of computer use per day. Must be able to travel between Head Start/Early Head Start locations daily. Some out-of-town travel is required.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
Must have knowledge of basic elements of correct English usage, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic; principles of letter and report writing; and filing systems.
Must have experience using Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, etc.
Must have ability to communicate with a variety of people, work independently, and maintain strict confidentiality of program data. Must be cooperative and display a positive attitude towards working as a team with other staff members. Must exercise discretion and sound judgment in the performance of assigned duties.
