Records Clerk locates and retrieves company records as requested. Follows verification procedures and prepares records for archiving. Being a Records Clerk inventories records stored and may assist in the destruction of records. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Records Clerk typically reports to a supervisor. The Records Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Provides clerical support, maintains records, and disseminates information within the guidelines of state and federal laws, departmental rules and regulations, County ordinances, Public Information and Privacy Acts, and GCIC/NCIC. Reports to the Sergeant or other designated person and works with co-workers, the public, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, and court personnel to provide administrative support.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma, or G.E.D.
EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) - three (3) years of experience in a similar position, or sufficient experience to perform the principal duties and responsibilities.

CERTIFICATION:
GCIC Certification.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Work is performed in an office setting.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
