The position includes legal work in the following areas: real estate, non-profit, corporate governance, contract review, fair housing, employment law, civil litigation, collections, bankruptcy, torts, and whatever other issues that may come. As the candidate will be communicating with clients, customer service experience is a plus and having a high level of written communication skill is required for this position.

    A successful candidate should demonstrate an interest and be willing to learn how to competently perform the following tasks:

    § Reviewing and analyzing statutes and case law, contracts, real estate documents, insurance policies in order to counsel, advise, and provide legal representation to clients.

    § Drafting documents to provide legal representation to clients, including contracts, opinion letters, governing documents, rules, easement contracts, and licenses.

    • Performing legal research using available resources, libraries, and data systems.
    • Formulating and issuing well-founded written and verbal opinions to clients.
    • Effectively conducting negotiations to resolve matters on behalf of clients, which may include negotiating payment plans for collection issues.
    • Representing the clients in civil court as is necessary to resolve matters on behalf of the clients.
    • Advising and communicating regularly with clients in person, via phone, e-mail, and written correspondence regarding the status of their matters.
    • Attending meetings when appropriate.
    • Participating in firm marketing initiatives and business development efforts, including participation in educational programs provided by the firm to clients and management companies.

    Qualifications
    - Strong legal research skills using Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw
    - Proficiency in drafting legal documents with attention to detail
    - Excellent writing skills for preparing legal briefs and memos
    - Experience in negotiating settlements and handling litigation matters
    - Knowledge of bankruptcy laws and procedures
    - Familiarity with real estate law and Fair Housing regulations
    - Legal administrative experience is a plus
    - Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and colleagues

    Job Type: Part-time

    Pay: From $70,000.00 per year

    Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
