Freight Rating Specialist

  • We are the Freight Rating team in KBX, located in the heart of Green Bay, WI, and we're looking for a dedicated Freight Rating Specialist to join our Freight Rating team. As a Freight Rating Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our rating system, managing rates, and facilitating effective communication across multiple departments.     What You Will Do

    • Maintain Rating System with current rates from contract changes for all KBX managed freight and carrier master information as required including adding new carriers
    • Maintain fuel programs in rating system
    • Resolve rating errors in a timely fashion to enable smooth processing with the settlement process
    • Analyze rating errors to look for opportunities to correct root cause
    • Use economic thinking to determine the level of process or system improvement justified to resolve longer term
    • Daily processing of expedited freight information, 3rd party unloading invoices, etc. as required
    • Processing and record-keeping supporting international shipment and freight forwarder settlement process
    • Collaborate and effectively communicate with multiple groups within the company
    • Work with Freight Audit to ensure timely freight payment
    • Work with accounting to be sure that freight cost information is transferred correctly to the general ledger to support divisional P&L reporting
    • Enter and update data in systems
    • Identify and proactively address process improvement opportunities within rating

    Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Microsoft Office experience - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint

    What Will Put You Ahead

    • 1 years of experience in tr ansportation/l ogistics
    • 1 years of experience with accounts payable/receiv able or invoice auditing
    • Associates Degree (or equivalent) or higher in accounting, mathematics, or similar degree area
    • Transportation operations experience
    • Previous freight rating experience
    • Experience with task automation
    • Previous experience working in contract interpretation
