Rate Analyst monitors, reviews, and evaluates service rates and charges for various public utilities. Calculates cost-of-service and performs related rate analysis. Being a Rate Analyst ensures filings comply with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission requirements. Typically requires a bachelor's degree of business administration or related field. Additionally, Rate Analyst typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Rate Analyst gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     When dealing:

    • Follows game procedures when dealing Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Poker, Baccarat, and any other form or variation of table games.
    • Provides prompt, courteous and accurate dealing at assigned table(s).
    • Adheres to all West Virginia Gaming Commission, internal controls, and all other company and departmental policies and procedures as it relates to this position.
    • Performs accurate chip and cash transactions. 
    • Receives wagers from customers and pays the appropriate game outcomes which are won by customers.
    • Maintains game security and protects company assets at all times.
    • Informs management of any irregular play; when a mistake is made; or, if a dispute arises.
    • Assists customers in understanding the rules and ensures adherence to established policies and procedures.
    • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
    • Ensures behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards.
    • Maintains a professional work environment with management and staff.
    • Maintains complete confidentiality of all company information at all times.
    • Participates in meetings and training as required.
    • Performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner and reports safety hazards immediately.
    • Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.

    When supervising:

    • Responsible for providing guidance and daily supervision to Team Members in the department. Supports and administers operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.
    • Regularly required to stand and walk including moving between multiple tables to observe guests and Team Members.
    • Based on business demands as needed, fill in for other Supervisors to open new tables or as relief Supervisor, as allowed and in accordance with the WV Lottery regulations.
    • Adheres to scheduling and coordinates with manager any scheduling concerns, with attention to guest satisfaction.
    • Responsible for supporting compliance to departmental budgets.
    • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs including enrolling customers in the player card program.  Ensures customer service standards are followed by all Team Members and addresses issues as they arise. 
    • Ensures efficient operations table games protection during assigned shift. This may include filling in for other supervisors as a relief supervisor or opening new tables based on business demands and in accordance with the WV Lottery.
    • Monitors chips and cash transactions between dealers and customers and ensures that proper payout amounts are paid to customers, in accordance with established procedures.
    • Accounts for chips on assigned games. This includes making fills and credits as needed.
    • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
    • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     • High school diploma or GED required; six months to one year experience in Table Games or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
    • Excellent skills in both written and oral communication.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word) and have knowledge of Table Games operating systems.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or equivalent required.  Must successfully complete dealer training or have previous casino dealing experience.  Must be able to successfully pass dealer assessment and audition.  Must be fast and accurate in handling cash.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.  Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from supervisors, managers, fellow employees and/or the general public.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.  

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

     

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Must obtain licensing with the West Virginia Lottery and Racing Commissions every year of employment.

     

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

    Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.   Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekend hours and overtime as business needs dictate.  Speaks clearly and politely; responds well to questions; and, contributes to building a positive team spirit.  Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.  Must be diplomatic and tactful.  Previous customer service experience preferred.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee must:   be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees and others.  The employee is regularly required to stand; speak; hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms.  Position requires fast, repetitive motion of hands and wrists and frequent reaching and bending over gaming tables.  Specific vision abilities required by this position include close and distance vision; color and depth perception; and, peripheral vision.   The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
