Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensures compliance with operational procedures for activities such as guest service standards, fire prevention emergency response, guarding and patrolling the physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with gaming protection activities, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.

• Ensures compliance with all regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal labor laws and the Virginia Lottery regulations and guidelines.

Provide on the job training and work side by side with new team members. Supervises, manages and assists security officers in all aspects of the job. Provide technical refresher training as needed for existing team members.

• Support new department processes by providing training or pre-shift communication to existing team members.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the department.

• Guards security post and/or patrols internal and external casino property to prevent and respond to security incidents.

• Prevents underage gambling via access to the casino floor by following identification verification procedures.

• Interviews guests and employees when security incidents occur.

• Obtains assistance for accident victims.

Assists management and enforcement officers in emergency situations. Writes detailed security reports.

• Answers security calls and dispatches officers to assist per departmental standards and protocols.

• Responds to emergencies in accordance with established procedures.

• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Three months or more security experience required; six months security experience preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:

• Gaming license as required by jurisdiction.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to communicate with team members and guests.

• Available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.

• Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

• Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
