Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ranch Manager to oversee the daily operations of our ranch. The Ranch Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining the property, as well as overseeing the care and well-being of the animals. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for animal care.
Duties:
- Manage all aspects of the ranch, including animal care, equipment repair, and maintenance of facilities
- Oversee the feeding, breeding, and health of animals on the ranch
- Perform basic veterinary care and administer medications as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of barns, pastures, and other ranch areas
- Operate power tools and equipment for various tasks such as fencing repairs and equipment maintenance
- Handle livestock safely and effectively
- Perform heavy lifting as required for feed bags, equipment, etc.
- Implement proper animal husbandry practices to ensure the health and well-being of all animals
- Monitor and maintain inventory of feed, supplies, and equipment
- Keep accurate records of animal health, breeding, vaccinations, etc.
- Assist with training and supervision of ranch staff
Requirements:
- Previous experience in ranch management or a related field
- Strong knowledge of hunting and cattle practices
- Proficient in equipment repair and maintenance
- Familiarity with operating a tractor, use of power tools and their safe operation
- Experience working with cattle is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with others
- Basic math skills for record keeping purposes
