As the Assistant Marina Manager for Gozzer Ranch and Discovery Marina, you will be part of creating the Gozzer Ranch Experience. You may be asked to perform other tasks (outside of your key areas of responsibility) from time to time based on business needs. Your key areas of responsibility are outlined below:

Key Area #1: Leadership

• Directly oversee employee performance by leading employees to being the best they can be
• Conduct team meetings to discuss daily / weekly / monthly tasks and events
• Prepare and communicate employee schedules to provide adequate coverage for all operational areas under your leadership. Ensure schedules are sent out timely so employees have time to prepare for their work schedule while also having the ability to plan and organize personal life needs
• Develop and inspire a sense of urgency and motivated attitude amongst your team. Coach in a manner that brings the best out of people daily
• Provide equal and fair opportunities for all employees
• Clearly communicate property information to all employees
• Provide recognition on a regular basis to support employee retention
• Find solutions to any problems that arise concerning services
• View one leadership video each month

Key Area #1: Member Experience and Vibe

• Ensure that each member and member guest receive outstanding service in a friendly environment. This includes promptly and professionally greeting and acknowledging every member and member guest, maintaining outstanding service standards, and possessing solid product knowledge
• Communicate with membership to create an honest relationship where their service needs, food and beverage selections, and other dining-related services are known to you and your team
• Exceed member and member guest expectations
• Create 100% guest satisfaction by providing our Gozzer brand behavior and genuine hospitality
• Give personal attention and take personal responsibility for a member and member guest experience
• Promoting services and activities provided to Gozzer Ranch members
• Understanding member and member guest needs. Provide them with personalized solutions by suggesting activities and facilities provided by the Club
• Assisting in creating the service vibe with your team through service-minded experiences.

Key Area #2: Teamwork

• Work intentionally to include all co-workers to include peers
• Support Club wide services and events when possible
• Create good working relationships with ALL Gozzer Employees
• Maintain a courteous attitude toward ALL Gozzer Employees

Key Area #3: Daily Operations

• Maintain accurate ordering, receiving, coding, and inventory procedures for your area of responsibility
• Create and adhere to operational budgets
• Ensure services are billed correctly and noted on member statements
• Coordinate with Food and Beverage Director / Banquet Manager / Chef regarding event BEOs to ensure correct product supplies availability, staffing, accurate billing and/or transfers, and other needs
• Interface with other departments to meet member and member guest requests throughout the Club by immediately acting.
• Assist team in creating innovative ideas to enhance member and member guest event experiences
• Lead, train, coach, and schedule all employees ensuring superior service. Successfully address and correct behavior that doesn’t meet service standards
• Be organized and detail-oriented. Utilizing checklists or other systems to ensure no task is left undone. Prepare for the unexpected and remain focused on the result
• Assist all teams with upholding Club service standards
• Assist in hiring and managing competent and motivated staff for the summer season while staying within budget.
• Oversee daily scheduling; approve time off requests, and all schedule changes.
• Assists in scheduling vessel movements, docking, fueling, and coordinating slip and mooring assignments.
• Assists in Marina maintenance during shoulder season. This includes but is not limited to dock, office, beach, tarps, vessels, and furniture upkeep.
• Make sure the Discovery shuttle boats and D1 are all operating on schedule.
• Delegating private boat drivers who are qualified for that specific vessel without causing low staffing for valet operations.
• Direct staff and help oversee all boat valet operations safely and efficiently.
• Be outgoing and involved with the members and guests in their boating activities.
• Be motivated to engage the membership and promote the family-friendly lifestyle at the marina.
• Daily boat maintenance for member boats, including uncovering and covering, stocking basic supplies, and wiping down and cleaning.
• Keep towels, water, and ice stocked in a variety of locations for member use.
• Assist in the slip rentals for daily moorage.
• Opening and closing of Club facilities duties daily.
• Keep daily records of usage of the club facilities and report needed charges to the Outdoor Pursuits office daily.
• Plan and implement safety procedures, making sure the staff is certified with basic skills and has the necessary resources available.

Key Area #4: Recruiting

• Work with Human Resources and the marina manager to organize and create a recruitment plan that accurately identifies needs.
• Participate in activities to increase overall applicants to Gozzer Ranch
• Attend college career days, and local job fairs and keep an online presence for posting all needed openings
• Be creative and innovative on ways to recruit and retain staff

• Prior marina management experience, preferred
• Must have strong overall knowledge of boats
• Must have knowledge and adherence to all state laws pertaining to the sale and service of liquor and other alcoholic beverages
• Comply with Idaho State Health and Wellness regulations
• Possess good computer knowledge
• Ability to work effectively with all personality types
• Ability to understand and carry-out verbal and written instructions independently
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations correctly
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, morning, and nights
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and temperatures to include inside and outside areas
• Ability to perform light physical tasks, exerting up to 25 lbs. of force on a frequent basis and up to 75 lbs. on an occasional basis independently or with help
• Ability to perform such activities as grasping, lifting, reaching, crouching, walking, sitting, and carrying.
