Riverport Railroad, LLC, located at the former Savanna Army Depot, is now taking applications for railroad personnel. Basic railroad experience, mechanic skills and the ability to operate some types of equipment are a plus, but no experience is necessary we are willing to train. Job duties will include, but are not limited to, track tie removal, rail replacement, activities involved with switching railcars, maintaining and adjusting switches and equipment maintenance. The ability to lift in excess of 60 pounds on a regular basis, hold a valid driver’s license as well as work outside in all weather conditions and pass a pre-employment drug test are required. Railroad Retirement Benefits offered as well as health, dental and vision insurance (company pays for employee, spouse or employee and dependents). Pays $18 to $20 per hour based on experience. Yearly pay raises. Hours are Monday thru Friday 7am to 3:30pm. There is no travel for this position, all operations are located at the former Savanna Army Depot.
