Radiologic Technologist jobs in Colorado

Radiologic Technologist performs radiological imaging examinations of patients using both stationary and mobile radiographic equipment. Positions patient as needed to obtain optimal images and prevent patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Being a Radiologic Technologist develops exposed X-ray film, ensures proper film identification on all images, and creates x-ray CD copies. Files films, maintains medical records, and performs other related administrative duties. Additionally, Radiologic Technologist typically requires an associate degree in a related area. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Radiologic Technologist works under moderate supervision.     Radiology Technologists are a critical part of performing high quality pediatric diagnostic imaging and conscientious patient care at Children's Hospital Colorado. This role leverages advanced imaging technology to facilitate the diagnosis and exceptional treatment to our patients, creating a brighter future for children at one of the nation's top children's hospitals. Their proficiency is pivotal in achieving precise medical assessments and upholding patient well-being.     North Campus (Broomfield)
    South Campus (Highlands Ranch/Parker/Centennial)

    Salary Range: $26.60 to $37 (hour) or $55,328 to $76,960 (annual) *Based on hours worked per week and years of experience.
    *Several positions are eligible for mileage reimbursement and/or shift differentials (PRN, night & weekend).

    Eligible Incentives: Relocation assistance available for qualified external applicants.

    Job Qualifications:

    Education - Graduation from an accredited Radiology program
    Certification(s) -
    • Registered Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R)
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

    Job Highlights:

    • Produces high quality radiographic images, both fixed and portable, while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology.
    • Facilitates patient flow daily; to include management of STAT/urgent and high priority patients.
    • Provides age-appropriate care and appropriately prepares patients for procedures.
    • Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure and care to patients, families, coworkers, and others.
    • Operates all Diagnostic imaging equipment; to include ancillary equipment following safety procedures and protocols.
    • Utilizes principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) and ensures proper radiation safety practices.
    • Maintains required competency in dose reduction techniques and the Image Gently Campaign.
    • In the event of an emergency will act as first responder and provide Basic Life Support (BLS) until help arrives.
    • Assists Provider with procedures as necessary (Maintaining technologist Scope of Practice). Follows established procedural guidelines; documents appropriate information as required; practices aseptic/sterile technique and standard precautions when necessary.
