Radiologic Technologist performs radiological imaging examinations of patients using both stationary and mobile radiographic equipment. Positions patient as needed to obtain optimal images and prevent patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Being a Radiologic Technologist develops exposed X-ray film, ensures proper film identification on all images, and creates x-ray CD copies. Files films, maintains medical records, and performs other related administrative duties. Additionally, Radiologic Technologist typically requires an associate degree in a related area. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Radiologic Technologist works under moderate supervision. The Radiologic Technologist performs imaging for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment planning with regards to patient care. The Radiologic Technologist demonstrates competency in skills necessary to care for patients served. The ideal candidate has competencies to perform multiple types of imaging including Fluoro, X-Ray, involving Emergency Room Patients, surgical patients, inpatients and outpatients.
Essential Functions:
Schedule: 24 hours every 6 weeks based on department needs, Holiday rotation and Call rotation, 1 Saturday every 5 weeks, Call approximately once every 15 days.
Education and Experience:Vocational Diploma or Associate's Degree from an AMA approved radiologic technology program, required.
Licenses and Certifications:
Radiological Technologist, Certified, required
Basic Life Support (BLS), upon hire, required
