Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation. Maintains patient charts, noting such information as the area treated, the radiation dosage, equipment control settings, the patient's reactions, and the total amount of radiation received to date. Being a Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II consults with radiation oncologists and other clinical staff as needed. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II typically requires graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program, certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a physician or manager. The Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     Job Summary and Qualifications

    The Radiology Technologist (ARRT PRN) operates standard, portable, and specialized X-ray equipment to perform routine and semi-complex radiographic examinations used by physicians for diagnosis and treatment.     What you will do in this role:  

    You will prepare patients for radiological procedures and take x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety. 

    You will develop and process films and transmit to a Radiologist for interpretation. 

    You will administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations. 

    You will ensure prompt transfer of images and documents to PACS system (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).  

    You will turn over and prepare room using aseptic technique between patients and clean / sterilize equipment. 

    You will follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.  

    What qualifications you will need: 

    • Must be a graduate of an AMA accredited program with a certificate or degree in Radiographic Technology. 
    • Should adhere to ARRT guidelines of obtaining 24 continuing education credits bi-annually. 
    • Must be ARRT Registered with ARRT – RT(R) or Registry eligible (must be registered within one year of completing program).  
    • BCLS Required. 
    • Two years of experience as RT(R) preferred. Will consider graduates. 
    • On Call may be required and must have the ability to report to LSMC within 30 minutes of call back.
