Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) jobs in Garland, TX

Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation. Maintains patient charts, noting such information as the area treated, the radiation dosage, equipment control settings, the patient's reactions, and the total amount of radiation received to date. Being a Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II consults with radiation oncologists and other clinical staff as needed. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II typically requires graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program, certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and a state license to practice. Typically reports to a physician or manager. The Radiation Therapy Technologist (ARRT) II work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     Responsibilities

    The X-Ray Technologist arranges patients for radiological examinations to provide personal care and diagnostic services in the home. Produces quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. Conducts radiographs in multiple views based on department requirements. . As an X-Ray Technologist you will:

    • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff
    • Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures
    • Performs daily inspection of assigned vehicles, x-ray machine and other medical equipment
    • Remains in contact with dispatch when work is completed for further assignments
    • Prepare images for reading by Radiologist
    • Completes all department required documentation to include but not limited to daily log sheets and monthly cleaning logs to ensure company and government standards are met
    • Processes images and reviews for proper identification and pertinent clinical history to ensure quality control
    • Maintains and cleans all equipment. Maintains proper sanitation of equipment after each patient contact
    • Practices “universal precautions”
    • Ability to travel as needed and as assigned
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

    • Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist per state guidelines
    • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration and maintaining required Continuing Medical Education (CME)
    • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record
    • Excellent problem solving, communication and computer skills
    • Flexible, detail-oriented team-player who works well under pressure
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize work assignments to meet department deadlines
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent organization and problem solving skills

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science with a focus of Radiologic Technology from an accredited university
