Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist jobs in Nevada
Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist calculates computerized isodose plans for radiation oncology patients. Computes standard dose calculations and determines computerized generation of isodose curves for external beam hyperthermia and brachytherapy radiation treatment programs. Being a Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist calculates treatment machine settings, documents calculations, and records treatment data in therapy chart. Interprets physician prescriptions to develop a therapeutic treatment plan. Additionally, Radiation Therapy Dosimetrist typically requires completion of a training program in medical dosimetry and ARRT registration in radiation therapy. Requires a bachelor's degree of physical or biological sciences. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. QualificationsEnsures safe and effective delivery of radiotherapy procedures by performing accurate radiation treatment plans for patients. Collaborates in the daily activities of the department to ensure maximum productivity, efficiency, and continuity of service for quality patient care. Functions as a Radiation Therapist as requested.
Connect With Us!EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Good knowledge of: basic theory and practice of dosimetry and medical terminology.
2. Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification preferred.
3. Certification by the American Association of Medical Dosimetrist upon hire
4. BLS (AHA) certification required.
