Racing and Sports Shift Supervisor jobs in West Jordan, UT

JOB SUMMARY

Park City Recreation is seeking responsible, friendly, and enthusiastic individuals to provide on-site supervision and score keep for the upcoming Softball Season. This is a part-time position with approximately 4-12 hours/week from June to September. Games are held Monday through Thursday between 6pm and 10pm. 

TYPICAL DUTIES

• Keeps score of softball games and update scoreboard.  
• Communicates with program supervisor on field/weather conditions.
• Monitors the site during the activity.
• Ensures referees and players know where to go.
• Ensures referee staff is ready and performs responsibilities correctly.
• Ensures that games start and end on time.
• Cleans up fields after games have finished and return equipment to proper storage.
• Ensures that safety is exercised throughout all recreational activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to offer leisure opportunities that serve the community with excellent customer service, beyond its expectations, while having fun.
• Acts professionally with customers, and project an image consistent with the job.

• Skilled in interpersonal communication, both verbally and in writing. 
• Ability to organize and supervise league players/officials. 
• Ability to act quickly and accordingly to emergencies. 
• Reliable and punctual.

• Eighteen (18) years and older. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous scorekeeping experience.        
• General knowledge of softball, or a desire to learn.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, drive, talk and hear.  
• The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle or operate objects or controls.
• The employee may occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.          
• Work is performed in outdoor settings, in all weather conditions including temperature extremes, and includes day shifts.  
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
