Racing and Sports Manager manages and directs the racing and sports book daily activities. Oversees racing and sports betting and ensures compliance with federal and state gaming regulations. Being a Racing and Sports Manager may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Racing and Sports Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Job duties include but not limited to:
Checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, taking payments and copays, verifying insurance Answering the back line phone
· Takes/triages telephone/portal messages , responds to patient/physician/pharmacy calls and documents that communication in EMR
· Completing requests from providers in a timely manner
· Collecting required patient paperwork and updating patient paperwork as necessary
· Monitoring waiting room for cleanliness, making sure everything is tidy and aesthetically pleasing for visitors
· Greeting patients
· Closing the office for the day, while completing various office tasks including: copying, faxing, emailing
· Abiding by both HIPAA and OSHA regulations
· Maintains an up-to-date and accurate database on all current and potential referring physicians
· Assists with arranging interpreter services, transportation as needed
· Checks all procedures for pre-certification with patient's insurance company
· Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (example Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment
· Handles release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys & insurance companies following company guidelines
· Overseeing providers schedule and management of patient flow
· Prepares patients for visit
· Keeps exam rooms stocked
· Assist Physician in exam rooms
· All other duties as assigned by Manager
· Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
· Must be able to perform repetitive bending, pulling, pushing, and stooping.
· May need to travel to other practice locations from time to time to provide coverage as deemed necessary by the department or practice manager.
