Racing and Sports Manager manages and directs the racing and sports book daily activities. Oversees racing and sports betting and ensures compliance with federal and state gaming regulations. Being a Racing and Sports Manager may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Racing and Sports Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Position Description:
Responsible for tack, saddles, and equipment for Jockeys.
Position Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a well-rounded horseperson. Prior general experience with horses including the care of several (5 to 15) horses at one time. Must be able to stand, walk, reach, lift, carry, bend, kneel, and twist throughout shift. Must have excellent communication skills. Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
