Job SummaryThe Operations Manager is responsible for all planning, logistics, compliance, and racing hardware administration as part of a Purdue University sponsored autonomous racing team. Purdue owns a "spec" chassis with an autonomous sensor stack. The competitive activity is software development of perception, localization, trajectory planning and vehicle control algorithms, performed by students and advised by faculty. Responsibilities include develop and continually improve processes that need to be followed by student teams to release software to the vehicle for test and competition; ensure processes are followed; facilitate planning exercises to identify functions and features to develop. Publish plans that coordinates the activities required by various sub-teams to ensure activities are completed as required before track days or competition milestones.
What We Are Looking ForEducation and Experience:Required:
- Bachelor's degree in motorsports, engineering, computer science or business
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in race vehicle operations/engineering, project management, software development process or other highly relevant experience
Skills:Required:
- Organizational skills with an attitude of continuous improvement
- Familiarity with racing and vehicles
- Project management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred:
- Familiarity with software development teams and processes
Additional Information - This position has the opportunity to work a hybrid work schedule (on-site/remote) with a significant expectation of being on-site in West Lafayette, IN with some time in Indianapolis
