    Job Description

    This position is responsible for directing the organization, administration and activities of the Budget, Security, and Technology Bureau, including oversight of all budgetary functions, information technology services, and security & data risk management programs. Oversees the management of Treasury information technology projects, will serve as information technology project manager on behalf of Treasury Executive Office for all Treasury IT projects; will oversee and guide the State Division Administrator of the Budget Division regarding the related information on technology services budget. Position works heavily with the Department of Technology Management and Budget (DTMB) staff on timelines, budget and processes.

    Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement supervisory experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement supervisory experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.

    Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.

    This position is eligible to work remotely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and must work onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Selected candidate must have a safe and appropriate designated workspace or workstation for performance of work and secure and sufficient internet access of commercial cable or wireless broadband with minimum speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.

    The Michigan Department of Treasury participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.

    Interviews will likely occur virtually using Microsoft Teams. No prior experience with Teams is necessary, as instructions and tips will be provided to all candidates scheduled for an interview.

    Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

    Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
