Quarry Superintendent manages general quarrying and crushing operations and quarry property. Plans for short- and long-term stone production. Being a Quarry Superintendent establishes blasting patterns and general and preventative maintenance programs for the quarry operations. Manages budgets and ensures long-term availability of raw goods for production needs. Additionally, Quarry Superintendent may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Quarry Superintendent typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. The Superintendent is responsible for all aspects of daily operations on a construction project. Such duties may include direction of subcontractors and BHS personnel on site, maintaining a safe jobsite, maintaining tools and equipment on site, interpreting project plans and producing red line drawings, scheduling inspections, confirming materials and coordinating material deliveries, promotion of teamwork, performing any other assignments as directed by Project Manager or Upper Management. Preferred applicants will have 3 years of experience, an active driver’s license, OSHA training certification, and elevated construction knowledge. Physical demands require lifting up to 100 lbs., adequate vision, and tolerance for extended exposure to outdoor elements.
