Overview:
Midwest Aggregate Company is seeking a Vice President of Quarry Operations who will have direct supervision over 4 limestone quarries, one trap rock quarry, and one slag plant.
Responsibilities:
· Establish excellent working relationships with Quarry Superintendents to assure safe & timely production activities and work force.
· Review/oversee efforts to improve our safety culture.
· Meet the highest standards of aggregate production Quality Control.
· Support the VP of Sales and his direct reports to address customer concerns with our aggregate products.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable state/federal regulations.
· Plan for and implement permit actions to ensure timely quarry development.
· Review and approve safety, construction, environmental and quality control related invoices.
· Administer and enforce all company’s policies and procedures at operating quarries.
· Formally evaluate and develop all direct reports.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 15 years in the aggregate quarry industry.
· Ability to manage large teams and coordinate multiple projects.
· Work experience with aggregate production processes, plant construction maintenance and repair, safety, quality control, environmental and permitting matters and planning and repair/maintenance procedures is required.
· Good computer skills are required, including fluent use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Excellent managerial and supervisory skills, including development of personnel, recruitment of talent, regulatory practices and procedures and long-range planning.
· Comfortable discussing/explaining aggregate production issues and making recommendations clearly and concisely to senior management.
