Quarry Superintendent manages general quarrying and crushing operations and quarry property. Plans for short- and long-term stone production. Being a Quarry Superintendent establishes blasting patterns and general and preventative maintenance programs for the quarry operations. Manages budgets and ensures long-term availability of raw goods for production needs. Additionally, Quarry Superintendent may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Quarry Superintendent typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. We are seeking a Superintendent to be based out of our Greensboro, NC area office.
In this hands-on position you will be responsible for on-site project supervision including management of field labor, equipment, materials, safety and production. Other duties will include: studying plans and specifications for construction, assembling skilled craft workers and laborers, procurement of tools and materials, conferring with all levels of staff from laborers to engineering personnel to resolve issues and improve construction methods, preparing detailed progress reports and inspecting work. Frequent travel required.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum 5 years progressive experience working as a Construction Superintendent in a similar field, AA in Engineering or Construction Management, and strong leadership and communication skills are required. Previous experience with foundation drilling and/or geotechnical construction is preferred.
