About the Department
Assists the Trauma Program medical Director and Trauma Program manager to improve the quality of trauma care throughout the continuum of care. Collaborates with the TPD and TPM to study, plan, implement and evaluate trauma care to assure the adherence to Trauma Programs' Performance Improvement and patient Safety (PIPS) program through clinical review both concurrent and retrospective and chart review of trauma patients. This will include identifying areas for improvement and education; using this data to develop educational programs, action plans to address quality issues identified and to ensure follow through of developed plans. The RN will oversee collection, tracking and benchmarking of trauma PI issues related to patient care and system development. Will track loop closure and resolution of PI data and projects.

The Quality and Patient Safety Nurse Clinician utilizes clinical expertise to identify patient safety concerns or trends, assesses the medical group/hospital's quality of care, promotes patient safety throughout the continuum of care and leads teams to improve quality and patient safety. Is directly involved in medical group/hospital committees and process initiatives to assist leadership with creating process improvements designed to optimize care, quality and patient safety related performance improvement activities.
